Make me a Servant

When I asked Br. Vince Sabal, SDB to play the song Make me a Servant, he readily agreed. He rendered this sans musical piece. As usual, Br Jerome Quinto, SDB did the video editing.

I don’t anymore recall the first time I heard the song, but it has significantly made its mark because of its soothing melody, which calms someone ahead of an impending threat. Not to mention that its words become a beautiful prayer of someone who yearns to serve the Lord despite knowing one’s fragile state.

Make me a servant
Humble and meek
Lord let me lift up
Those who are weak
And may the prayer
Of my heart always be
Make me a servant
Make me a servant
Make me a servant today

The song will used during the part of the investiture, where the newly ordained deacons will be handed on the signs of their diaconal ministry, the deacon’s stole and the dalmatic.
